Easter

Why is Easter so significant?

Easter is the main focus of the Christian calendar because if Jesus is not God’s Son, and He did not die on the cross and rise back to life as the Bible recounts, there is no Christian faith. Without Jesus, we have no hope of redemption or eternal life.

The Bible records God’s story from the creation of His world to the end of life on this earth as we currently know it. God created us to be in relationship with Him, but we have all gone astray, living as lords of our own lives. None of us, as humans, has lived a perfect life or can be truly holy and blameless. God had a rescue plan for us, though: He sent His own Son, Jesus, to earth to live a blameless life. Jesus was crucified and died on the cross to pay the penalty we deserved.

The best way to find out more about Jesus—His life on earth, His death, and His resurrection—is to read the Bible for yourself. The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John each recount Jesus’ life from slightly different perspectives. Jump in and start reading them.
