Our Story

Philippa

Philippa has previously worked as a teacher for over a decade. After further post graduate training, she now works as a Children’s and Family Counsellor. This role has given her the privilege of walking alongside many individuals and families through times of pain, crisis, and growth. Philippa also serves as a voluntary chaplain in the Australian NSW court system, offering comfort, support, one-on-one interventions, and where discussions allow, the hope of Christ to those facing some of life’s most difficult circumstances. This role allows her to facilitate a one-on-one support program with male offenders of DV to help them understand how their own trauma history has led them to paths of harm, and how real change in their attitudes and behaviours can make future relationships safer.

Philippa has been married to Greg for 18 years. She is also a mother to three adult children, stepmother to two adult daughters, and a proud grandmother. As a committed Christian for nearly 40 years, Philippa’s walk with God has been shaped not only by faith, but also by personal trials and seasons of deep testing. She has previously lived in an unsafe marriage. These experiences have instilled in her a compassionate heart and a desire to bring encouragement and restoration through her writing. The novels Restoring Hope and Grace for the Broken in The Restored from Ashes Series, draw from this well of lived experience and spiritual insight. She is passionate about supporting the vulnerable and hopes that these novels and their accompanying Discussion Guides will be helpful for those on the journey of healing from painful or harmful relationships, family of origin trauma, or navigating an unplanned pregnancy. These novels have also been written to allow those who have not lived through these challenges to have greater compassion and insight.

Greg

Greg Cleall as a committed Christian himself has his own experience of lived harm from his childhood and a previous marriage relationship. He has spent time over the past two decades regularly supporting men with mental health and relationship challenges. This has enabled him to contribute wisdom in writing the resource Healthy Men Helping Men to Grow Safer Relationships as he understands many of the complex factors involved in taking steps towards courageously helping other men become safe.

Both Philippa and Greg feel passionate about supporting others to be safer in relationships, helping support young men and women facing unplanned pregnancies, and encouraging churches to become more trauma-informed in their pastoral care so their vulnerable are not further wounded.
